Wild Fly Fishing specialises in teaching fly casting and fishing from beginner to instructor level. Our emphasis is always on teaching you to be a better fly caster and angler, rather than simply guiding you to fish.
Bob Sherwood and all Wild Fly Fishing teachers are qualified instructors, examined by the Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors, not unqualified “guides” or “coaches”.

We teach all single-handed trout fishing casts and double handed salmon Spey casting.
Casting lessons start at two hours, but for complete beginners we recommend a minimum of a four-hour half day session to cover the basics of casting, tackle set-up, fly recognition and basic fishing methods.
For improvers, we can teach you to cast further, master the double haul, deal with tricky winds, and iron out any faults you might have picked up.
Advanced casters can learn the Spey casts, snake roll and snap-T, as well as specialist presentation casts: curves, mends and slack line casts.
Salmon fishers can learn the secrets of the double-handed rod: single and double Spey casts, the snake roll, snap-T, circle-C, as well as handling sinking lines and shooting heads.
We can also offer brush-up sessions ahead of that long-planned trip to a special saltwater or salmon destination. Don't waste time on a magical piece of water getting frustrated with your casting.
